FIRST DAY
Setting off from Montagnana, the first stop of the tour is a green countryside idyll, a regenerating walk between Matasequoia, Frassini, Onielli, Bagolari, Beeches, Maritime Pines, but also woodpeckers, bees and the scent of medicinal herbs. Here you will find an exclusively organic viticulture, with an interesting production of wines some of which are in the top 100 in Italy, winners of numerous national and international firsts. The wine tasting will be accompanied by strictly organic locally produced meats and cheeses. Leaving the farm behind, the next stop is a castle, a majestic residence, where you can breathe in a quasi medieval air redolent with fairy tales. Here, it is easy to imagine yourself surrounded by ladies and knights, vassals and jesters. A genuine castle encompased by battlements. Large internal and external bright spaces welcome the visitor to a labyrinth of stairways and balconies overlooking the courtyards. Dining in such a charming atmosphere will leave an indelible memory. Upon request, the castle can host guests for the night in one of its medieval themed rooms.
SECOND DAY
On the second day of your trip, Montagnana will be your destination with its 2 km of majestic walls that have remained intact over the centuries, the best preserved in Europe. Our guide will walk you through the precious artifacts dating back to the 3rd century BC, and the 14th century AD which you can find inside the museum. Montagnana’s square is the hub of the city and offers an ideal setting first of all for an aperitif. Then, you can have lunch and taste our “Prosciutto Berico Euganeo” famous all over the world for its singular sweetness. It can be accompanied by other cold cuts and cheeses for a gastronomic tour-de-force of the best Italy to taste, and where artisanal passion is synonymous with quality. All these products are specialties which are hard to find on the international market.
